Portfolio

Dartmouth Drive Extension

This project includes the design of a 2,500 linear foot extension of Dartmouth Drive from Krenek Tap Road to Harvey Mitchell Parkway. Mitchell & Morgan, LLP designed the street extension, associated bridge across Bee Creek, hydraulic analysis for the bridge and design of utilities for the project. A hydraulic analysis was performed to assure that Dartmouth was accessible to emergency services. This was an important design element because Texas Avenue and the SH6 frontage roads are inundated with storm water during major storm events.

The street alignment crosses Bee Creek and as a result Mitchell & Morgan, LLP also completed a preliminary wetland survey on the property to assure compliance with Corp of Engineers permitting requirements. Mitchell & Morgan, LLP also prepared a concept report which included a preliminary review of design elements to be chosen by the City of College Station. Because Dartmouth extends through the City Center, these design elements must be coordinated with the City Center Subcommittee. To accomplish this, Mitchell & Morgan, LLP is working with staff to facilitate bridge ideas/discussion with the Subcommittee. This project is currently under construction.
