Realignment of approximately 2200 linear feet of Rock Prairie Road from SH6 to Stonebrook in the Woodcreek Subdivision in
College Station, Texas. This project consisted of the street and drainage design for the realignment of an existing roadway.
The design was such that the current roadway can be expanded in the future for an ultimate roadway section. Transition
sections were designed at both ends of the new alignment to tie to the existing roadway sections.
Mitchell & Morgan, LLP was retained to design a phased approach for the Rock Prairie Road East Realignment construction, which included the planning and design of the initial phase of the roadway, as well as the ultimate drainage and roadway design. The City of College Station desired to realign Rock Prairie Road with the Rock Prairie Road overpass, but only had funds allocated for a portion of the ultimate cross section. Mitchell & Morgan, LLP designed the ultimate cross section to accommodate drainage and alignment, then prepared design drawings for the half-portion of the cross section. The design took place in 2000-2001 and the construction of the project began in 2001 and ended in 2003.
